Where children grow
with purpose
and wonder

A Waldorf-inspired education rooted in nature, creativity, and community — nurturing the whole child from early childhood through Grade 8.

“Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom.”Rudolf Steiner
Education for head,
heart & hands

For nearly four decades, Edge Hill has offered children an education that honours the fullness of childhood. Situated on rolling countryside of rolling countryside in Grey County, our school is a place where learning unfolds through story, song, movement, and the rhythms of the natural world.

Our Waldorf-inspired curriculum develops intellectual clarity, emotional depth, and practical skill — preparing children not just for the next grade, but for life.

Three pillars of a
Waldorf education
I

Artistic Integration

Every subject is taught through an artistic lens — from wet-on-wet watercolour in the sciences to rhythmic movement in mathematics. Art is not an add-on; it is the medium through which understanding deepens and takes root.

II

Nature Connection

Our campus is the foundation of learning. Students tend gardens, walk forest trails, observe wildlife, and develop a lasting relationship with the land across all four seasons.

III

Living Community

Families, teachers, and students form a close-knit community bound by shared values. Seasonal festivals, parent evenings, and collaborative governance create bonds that extend far beyond the classroom.

A journey through childhood

Each stage of our curriculum is designed to meet children where they are developmentally — from imaginative play to independent thinking.

Letters born from stories, numbers through rhythm, and the world explored through wonder. Main lesson books replace textbooks as children create their own.

Middle years students

Middle Years

Local geography, Canadian history, botany, and zoology broaden the horizon. Practical skills in woodwork, knitting, and handcrafts ground the growing intellect.

Upper school learning

Chemistry, physics, and world history engage the awakening intellect. Students lead projects, debate ideas, and prepare thoughtfully for their transition ahead.
